Why Pre-Wash Minkey Fabric?

Hi. Welcome to Expert Village. I am Gretchen Soares with Butterfly Boutique. A very important step when you?re going to be covering something that you?re going to be laundering is to prelaunder your fabric or prewash your fabric. On this fabric we?re going to want to go ahead and go on but gentle section or setting because it?s a gentle fabric and you?re going to want to wash it alone especially if it?s a bright color because it could possibly bleed on your other garments. So you want to wash it alone the first time so if there?s any bleed-age it doesn?t go on to your other garments. So we?re going to go ahead and get this started. And you?re going to want to use any kind of detergent that you normally use with your child. So just standard, your standard detergent that you use for your family laundry. So we?re going to take this and we?re going to go ahead and put it in the washer. And were going to get it started prewashing. OK. So our wash, our fabric has washed and it?s now dried. And it?s ready to use. The nice thing with minkey is it comes out very not wrinkled. If this was a cotton or a flannel we would need to go iron it now but since we?re working with minkey. We?re going to go straight to cutting.
