Pet Loss Counseling for Kids: Scrapbooking Tips

An excellent way to remember your pet is to do scrapbooking. And really the only limits to scrapbooking are your own creativity. There's just so many ways that you can use scrapbooks and put different objects, not only pictures, but you might want to add -- like, this particular scrapbook has actual pockets in some of the pages so that I put the sympathy cards that we received after our dog Brutus died. And so you've got that option right there. You can go to a lot of arts and crafts stores and get all kinds of things for stenciling, for drawing things in the different pages. We've got pictures of Brutus here. We will be putting some pictures in the scrapbook. And the kids can help with that, most definitely. They have fun picking out which ones were their favorite. They have fun talking about the memories of maybe a particular place the picture was taken or an event. For Brutus, we've got his AKC dog registration right here. You might want to put letters that you got from people right here regarding your dog, because we did adopt Brutus from another family. It could be things from the veterinary clinic, those types of things. A scrapbook is a wonderful way for years to come, to be able to look through the pages and remember your pet.
