Arm Tips For a Tornado Kick

So we know how to go and do the set up, all the way up into the horse. But what do we do with our arms? This is very important, as we don't want our arms to be restricting us while we're in the air. We also do not want them to serve as dead weight. So the arms are very important for the height and momentum. Now what I like to do with the arms, in the set up, this is optional because you can set up anyway you like. You can bring it out like here. But as you do the jump, as you prepare for it, you want the arms to come from above and swing up. I'm going to show you from this side, as it might be easier to see. Step out and it comes, if you imagine having an imaginary line going this way, you want your arms to be, your hands to be on that line. This imaginary plain right here. As you jump, you bring them up. Because as your leg comes up, your arm will come up and that momentum will help guide you upwards and assist you over for the kick. Again, you want to throw them up but not just throw them out and flail them. You want to throw them out and keep them tight somewhere close to your body so that again there's no restriction as you continue through to your kick. You bring it here and if you note, my hands are still on the same plain. They're still on this one imaginary line. They don't go this way and they don't go this way and they don't veer. They go together and with the force, in the same direction, lifting me up. So I'm going to show you one more. Little bit faster, like that. That will take us up to our next movement.
