Using Hands to Smooth Clay Bowls
After I've smoothed it with the sponge. If I see the shape, if I don't like the shape or if I see some more little bit deeper imperfections I can just kind of lightly wet my fingers. Then, I can get in there and really smooth it out. If it's dry, it's going to show my fingerprints.
So, basically we're just going to keep these moist. And, this actually tore a little bit. So, we're going to go in here and smooth this out.
And, I'm not really squeezing it. I'm more just running my fingers over the clay with a little bit of pressure. And, I'm trying to get the edges uniform as well. So, that's helping smooth it out. And, it's also bringing the bowl out like my sketch that I had originally drawn. Just continue to do this. And, that's the good thing about clay is you get to keep playing with it, keep looking at your piece. At least it doesn't dry immediately. Now, that's starting to shape up a lot better.
