Supplies for Modeling Clay Bowls

Hi, welcome to working with clay and making a clay bowl. The supplies we're going to use today are, obviously, a big chunk of clay, I don't think we'll need all this, but this is actually a white clay that you can get at any local art store. You can buy smaller packages, this is just, it's a little bit cheaper to get a big block of it. You need a sponge, a bowl with some water. This is actually a wire cutting tool to cut off big pieces instead of just trying to rip it out with your hands. You've got, this is a loop tool, we've got a ribbon tools to slice off little ribbons, things like that. This is a potter's rib, this is a steel scraper, you can pull off really thin layers, like if you were slicing off butter, things like that. I've also put down some cardboard and then I put plastic on top of my table because clay tends to get a little messy. I also have your basic dish towel here, and I would suggest that you have clothes that you don't mind getting dirty because sometimes it gets a little crazy making clay objects. So these are the supplies you're going to need and we'll see you in the next clip.
