Leg Tips When Doing an Aerial

Ok. So, we know what to do with the arms. And, we also know how to explode up and jump up. Now, what we need to do with the legs. As, I've already given a pre-introduction basically into it. Is, that we need to kick up this right leg. But, when we kick it up it's going to continue that momentum all the way over like so. Just going to use my hands as a Cartwheel to demonstrate the usage of the legs. The right leg, we follow the right leg as it goes over. What we want to do is a couple things. Keep the legs straight. Keep the knees, let me show you. You want to keep the knees locked. You're going to keep them locked as they're in the air. So, watch. Because, you want the legs to be straight as they're in the air. Also, again there's different styles. But, for the most esthetically and for the most efficient Aerial. You want to keep you legs as far apart as possible. Basically, we bring the right leg over until the left leg is forced to come over. So, that there's a greater distance between them. As opposed to having them right next to each other as you go over. So, watch. The right leg goes first. And, then the left leg follows. Now, in the air we had this 'V' shape. We keep our legs straight. And, we can also point the toes. That way, we are flexing all the muscles. And, bringing ourselves down faster. And, that's basically what we do with our legs when they're in the air for the Aerial.
