Now before attempting the aerial, there's definitely a few precautionary items that you want to take into account. You want to make sure you have proper space, especially if you're trying it for the first time, and also, it's always, always, always important to warm up your body. It's good to maybe take a quick jog... just heat up your body temperature so that you're more loose and more flexible. Make sure that you do some stretching. I like to also just do a few kicks to get my body ready...because you need to swing your leg up for the aerial. You don't want to pull and muscles. Now again you want to warm up your ankles and your wrists, just like so, in a circular motion, see? You're able to warm up your ankles because you're going to be using your ankle, calves, and thighs. And you could do this stretch where you pull your toe back, keeping your knee straight and bend. You always want to hold a stretch for at least fifteen seconds to get a good stretch. You can also do it; in fact you definitely should do a stretch on both sides. If you take a look right here...at a different angle, you're basically just stretching down. And also for the knees, just go down and give it a few extensions and pull, and just warm it up so that it's ready because you're going to be jumping off your left leg today, so you definitely want to do a few squats, just to warm up your thighs. And make sure that you're wearing the proper equipment, or proper clothing, which we'll be going over soon. And those are some basic cautionary items that you need to take into account when doing the aerial.
