So now that we've learned how to do a butterfly twist, that one was just simply a three sixty, three hundred and sixty degree rotation. There's quite a few variations of the butterfly twist. Simply by adding extra rotations, which is basically the same movement, but torquing more, you can get five forty which will make you land on the opposite foot, or opposite leg. You can also do seven twenty which will help you land in the same again with the left leg in front. The only difference would be that you would spin two times in the air. These obviously require a little bit more physical training to do and I highly recommend maybe a foam pit or a soft carpeted floor to do these. Also variations on the movement are, some people like to land with both feet and some people, like myself, when I go up, I like to keep the left leg loose, so it's not exactly straight because for me that's more comfortable. There's also different styles, some people like to make both legs perfectly straight, you can put your hands at your side, you could put your hands over here, but the key thing to note is that the hands are close to the body for clean looking butterfly twist. And lastly, we're also able to land in different positions, although, typically, it's safer and also, for first time practitioners of the butterfly twist, you can land with left leg in front, however, you can also land with different stances or land into the splits. So you can twist up the left leg would still be there in front and then you could land into the split like so. So basically, there you have it, a few variations that you can switch up and make more up on your own. And that's how we do variations on the butterfly twist.
