Hi. I'm Jeanette White on behalf of Piper's Quilts and comforts and Expert Village. Today we're going to be doing a cable. Cables are so beautiful. And you can see here on this hat their right next to each other with just a knit and a purl, a knit and a purl in between. They give things wonderful texture and there's just a whole host of wonderful things you can do with them. Your instructions will say probably, cable 3 front and I'm going to show you how to do that. If it says back we can do that one also. For this you're going to need a cable hook. And these come in a variety of sizes and styles. You want to find one that's about the same size as the needle that you're working with. And in this case this green one works fine. So I'll knit down to where my cable should be and with my cable hook I'm going to lift one, two, three stitches off. And this is a cable back so I'm going to hold these in the front. Now I'm going to knit the next three stitches that are on my left hand needle. And then I'm going to put these three stitches back onto my left hand needle which is my to do needle and I will knit them next. I usually just take my cable hook and park it right here in the front so that I've got it handy because you're usually doing a lot of these. Now I'll knit my one, two, three and you can see I've actually just twisted 6 stitches. Now you can twist these front or twist them back. And that's how you do a cable.
