Key Changes in Music

Hi, I'm Austin McBride here with Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to change key signature in the middle of a song. So this riff that I wrote it is in a minor scale; minor blue's scale just king of going back and forth between "G" sharp to an "F" sharp. And it'll just follow this pattern back and forth. However, it will eventually transform down here to this "E" flat, to an E/7. And this E/7 right here is what allows us to transpose it and move up into an "A" minor, which was not in the original key signature whatsoever. So, that's where we'll be changing keys. Take a look real closely and it'll make perfect sense. As you can tell, that is pretty much the exact same riff, just written in a different key there at the end. A lot of great bands, The Beatles, The Doors, they all did a lot of great key changes. So go for it, it'll change the moods of your songs.
