Clients as News Sources for Radio Report

Hi, there. This is Eddie Matthews on behalf of Expert Village. A few tips for announcers trying to get a career in radio. In this segment, we're going to talk about value-added for your clients. And for your listeners as well, too, because everybody's getting something out of this. One thing you'll remember that works, as value added for your sales department, especially is using some of the clients for your station as guests, as a contact for the newsroom. Next time there's something like a snow storm on the way, why not get a client who sells tires on the air to tell you why you need this new set of tires and how to drive a bit more defensively in the winter time. This is great because it'll give them a chance to feel like an expert, which they are, because they know the product more than you do. And you get that extra bang for the dollars that they're spending with the radio station, hopefully come back and do some more spending because they'll have a lot of people talking about that. You can use the clip on the news department, or on the next news cast. It's a win-win situation all the way around.
