Hi, I'm Melina and welcome to Expert Village. Today, I'm going to show you how to make a screen print design on a t-shirt. In this next step, we're going to clean off our stencil and prepare it for storage. After you've cleaned off your screen print box, take a moist rag and wipe down some of the excess paint on your screen print. You don't have to remove all of the paint, but you do want to remove most of it. Over time after using the same design over and over again, what's going to happen is that the paint is going to chunk up and it's going to interfere with your design. Be very careful not to rip it. When you store your screen print designs, let this fully dry because there is still going to be some paint left on it. Once it's fully dry, you want to store it flat. Preferably with something heavy on top because as you can see the design is going to have the tendency to lift up and life down and try to curl. When you store it, if you have something flat on top it's going to ensure that the next time that you print you will have a nice even design. You can see here how it's bubbling up and here it's going down. Over time when you print if you haven?t stored it flat say that when you go to print maybe this tale fluke will twist a little to the side or this one will twist down. A lot of things can happen so you want to make sure that you store it flat so that everything dries into place.
