Hi, this is Debbie Huglin Vogel and I am here for Expert Village. We are learning how to make rag rugs on a hand made loom. Right at the moment we're to the point where you can see that we've easily made more than double the size of the rug. Just like that. What you want to do is detail the rug so that everything looks the way we want it to look. We want nice square salvages, nice edges, and these margins. So we are going to give it a good tug. Cause we are in control of it. Then any place it isn't straight across we can straighten it out right now. We do that before we finish it up and we tie it off because we want the rug to look a certain way. So I am going to bring this down. And this one down. Then straighten out these threads. You can push them from either side. You want them to be fairly even. That's what makes your rug look really good and it also makes it where it will lay flat. Otherwise it will lay crooked. We want that to be an inch not a twist. That?s how we keep our rug looking really beautiful. I think we have it pretty much straight. So when it lays on the floor and you take it off of here, it will still be a straight rug.
