Picking Material for Homemade Pillow Cases
Hi, welcome to Expert Village. I'm Gretchen Soares with Butterfly Boutique. O.k., for this project we're going to make a flanged pillow case cover. It's going to be a decorative cover that you use on your pillows on probably a bed or a couch. As for a decorative look, not so much a used look. You want to choose a fabric that's going to be launderable. So things like velvet, velveteen, anything that is dry clean only isn't a very practical choice. Especially, if you have children or anything like that or pets. Pets are very hard on decorative pillows. I've chosen this fabric today. It's a patchwork look, so it's a lot of pieces seemed together. But the nice thing is it incorporates a lot of the different fabrics that are used in the room that this is going to go into. So it's very, it's a cotton which makes it one hundred percent washable and it's going to be very tying together for that room. It's going to pull a lot of the different things in there together. So, that's why we're using this one.
