Equipment for a One Woman Show

Hi, I'm here at Expert Village. My name is Kat Litrenta and I'm a professional entertainer and I'm showing you how to put a one-person Latin show together. Oh, this is so much fun. Now, we have to talk about the equipment. And, equipment can range in hundreds and thousands of dollars or, you can do it simply just to get your feet wet with this karaoke machine. Now, this karaoke machine can be bought from Target, Wal-Mart, that kind of thing. It's in the price range of about $69.00, $79.00 and it does come with a microphone. And there's two places for microphones so someone else can sing along with you, if you purchase another mike. Now the microphone that came along with this machine is not really the professional quality that you might want to use if you're trying to put a professional show together. But it is a lot of fun at parties in your home. This feature right here will show the graphics on the CDs that you purchase that have to be with graphics. And the words come across and people can sing while they watch the video go by. Perhaps if you're singing with this for a ladies' luncheon or a small group that would be very kind to you using this kind of machine, you might want to put a little reverb on it. One thing nice about this machine, is it does have a little reverb and, what that does is, puts a little feel in your voice and gives you a little more quality to your voice. It doesn't sound so dry coming out. Now, if you're going to go into this whole hog, I would say get this, this is my buddy right here. This is Sound Tech and I bought this over the internet. It's on wheels, its got a wonderful handle and all the plugs are in the back. You can plug in an extra keyboard, an extra guitar if maybe you sing and play the guitar, that'd be fabulous because you can plug all that into this. If you want to reach about a hundred people, a hundred and fifty, that's your best bet. A little bit bigger than that, there's AC plugs on the back and you can plug in another speaker that can be put farther away to reach more people. So your equipment is really important. And one thing that I always do, is bring along my own microphone. That can make you or break you.
