Hi, this is Douglas Willot on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to talk about how to decide between purchasing a PC or a Mac. Alright, lets talk about computer speeds. It's not necessarily that a PC is faster than a Mac or a Mac is faster than a PC. That just depends on the processor speed and how much RAM is in your computer. In the case of both the PC and the Mac, that is able to be customized. Lets take a look at the processor speeds on each. Now this has a 2.0 core duo processor within it. 2.0 is how many gigahertz that that processor has. But that doesn't mean that its slower than what a 4.8 ghz processor would be on here. A Pentium 4.8 on here is actually the same speed as the 2.0 on this laptop because of the duo core processing that is used in here. It streamlines the data in a way more data is able to be processed, making it so that the 2.0 works as fast as the 4.8. Its just a matter of whether you want to focus on a processor that does pure power or on maximizing the amount of data that it can handle. As for RAM, RAM is completely customizable within both of these. This has 512Mb. This has a little over a gig. If I want, I can easily upgrade the amount of RAM in this laptop. Its not a hard thing to do. I just have to purchase it and install it myself. Or have someone else install it for me. If you would like more information on comparing processor speeds inside machines. You can go ahead and just type in compare processors to a search engine and a chart like this should show up.
