I am Heather McCanna on behalf of expertvillage.com and today I will be showing you some card making basics. Specifically how to make a envelop for when you want to give away your card. Here I have a little Happy Easter card and in order to make a envelop you need a sheet of paper that is significantly larger than your card. So I would be using this piece of paper. Since it is a envelop it is okay if the paper is more floppy. I'm going to lay down the card directly on the corner making sure that there is no access. I'm going to simply mark the opposite corner on both side so I know how long the card is. I'll then slide the card down and do the same thing one more time. Marking the piece of paper that is twice the size of my card. At the point you can set aside your card and you are going to use these lines which you don't want to fill in completely because they'll make lines through your envelops. You want to measure ½ inch beyond your line on both marks that you've made. You would also repeat this process on the other length of your card. So there is my mark you want it go out ½ inch and make a mark. Now that I've got the extended dimension which would allow for glue space for our envelop you want to go ahead a connect the lines, forming the basic outline of my envelop, you also want a flap so you can close your envelop. So I'm just going to simply draw a triangle in one end of my card dimensions. So here I've got the basic envelop of design. I'm going to now cut it out along the lines. Then in our next segment I'll show you how to cut out and finish folding the envelope.
GREAT!
