How to Rehearse as a Car Hop Character

Hi. Thanks for coming back to Expert Village. My name is Kat Litrenta. I'm a professional performer and I do one woman shows. And I'm showing you how to put a one person show together for the 50's. Now we've gone into the production office and we've done all of that. And what we need to do now is rehearse the show. We've got our CD made and it's got all of the songs that we want, just produced, just for ourselves in the studio. This is my show. Now, what I've done and you might consider this to, is not everybody wants an hour show, this is my hour show, but I do have a thirty minute show and I keep them separated by the titles on them. This one's called American Bandstand and I know what tunes go with that because, in my book, I've organized a section that's called American Bandstand, and I go right to it. It's got all of the songs that were popular on American Bandstand way back when. Put a book like this together for yourself and rehearse your numbers. Put on your CD from top to bottom and go through the songs. And rehearse some moves too, you know. Rehearse your snapping and your dipping and a lot of choreography, it always helps to have some moves. And some of the songs have instrumental sections and you just can't stand there. You've got to rock and roll, baby. That's what they want to see. Oh gosh, it's a lot of fun.
