Character Pop-Up Cards: Beginning Your Pop-Up Card

I am Heather McCanna on behalf of expertvillage.com and today I will be discussing basic card making tips. In this segment I'll be showing you how to make a character pop up card. A character pop up card involves making a mouth which would pop up and can drawn into any character such as a animal or person in order to make your card more lively. We are going to start out by picking a card which has been folding in half, and we are going to cut a small slit down the center of the folded edge. Then you should open the card, and push from the bottom until you get one side of the slit and pitch it with your other hand. At this point you should try to close the card again making sure that the other end of the card still stay folded. It should beginning to peek and a this point close the card and make your fold. Repeat this step with the other side pushing the card through pinching it until it makes a peek and closing the card. After these fold have been made you can see that we created a mouth which would pop up as we open the card. After this I'll be showing you how to decorate a face around the outside. This makes a fun card to include a message from the character that you now made. It could include birthday cards or anything that you want it to be exciting and fun.
