Hi, I'm Bullet Time, dance choreographer here in L.A. on behalf of Expert Village. In this video we'll be learning how to hear music. Step one of that process involves picking a song. You want to make sure the song that you pick is very rich and layered with high hats, bass drums, African drums; you know the little small ones that go really, really fast; whatever your song has in it you want to make sure you can find each item. Sometimes when you go to a dance class or when you're watching dance on television it's hard to hear exactly what the choreographer is going to. So when you study music by yourself the process becomes a little bit clearer. You'll need a few things, a pen a piece of paper, or if you don't have that you can simply use your fingers to count out the different instruments and follow them along until the song ends, and after that you'll simply start with your next instrument on your list and do the same thing again, repeat the process until you're done with all of your instruments, and then if you're ready to start applying movement to the instruments you're hearing.
