When you are setting up the home studio and you are looking into buying lights you really need to take into consideration portability, now personally one of the reasons that I chose the mono-lights for my strobe lights is because that I know with the small power pack I can take that one light and go pretty much anywhere. In addition I sometimes use as my secondary light the flash that goes with my Canon which is also a small light and extremely portable. Now I have shown you a couple of different ways where you can really take that to the next level, you can use radio flashes or the sync cords but if you don't need those kinds of things buying the solution that is not the mono-light with the power pack and a couple of heads can actually be more affordable so just keep that in mind when you are setting up your studio, are you someone that is going to want to shoot in one spot all the time or do you plan on doing some traveling so when you are doing your shoppoing you can make that comparision.
