How to Include Owners in Pet Photography

Now since you already have your owner with you at the studio, you might as well make sure that they get in there with the shots so talk to them ahead of time before that because sometimes owners are like oh no I don't want to be in the picture but if they have planned for it then they can be dressed and have their makeup done and all of that kind of stuff so they'll be ready to be in the shots for the picture you can get some great candid shots just letting the owner play with their pet or maybe get a kiss Meeka kiss or maybe they know what's some tricks or maybe they just wanna hug and cuddle once the animal settle down obviously then you can kinda play maybe get some nice cute pictures like that then you can move to maybe some more formal shots where you can get the animal to come around Meeka here come here sit sit ok lay down shhh and now a great trick that I have is that once the animal is sitting down I tell the owner no matter what you keep your eye on the camera this also works great for children and then I'll use either the treat or a toy to get the dog to look up and in the direction of the camera and I'll just wait for that moment and snap that shot It's really important when you're shooting with animals to have alternate tricks because things that have always worked in the past may not work at the time of the shoot now right now I?ve been using one particular snack with my dog meeka a lot of times using the elephant can keep her interest too but she's either really hungry right now or those treats we've been giving her have been incredibly delicious cause she has no interest in this but I have a piece of cheese I'll be right back now my dog will do just about anything for a piece of cheese come here what do I have what do I have here what is that oh we've just brought our little photography game here up to a whole new level with my dog so it's important to have these things ready so when the time comes wait that you can be playful and just really enjoy the company of the dog and always have a little backup trick to keep their attention good girl good girl
