In this segment, I'm going to show you the basics of the Staff technique. Staff technique is very important, okay. If you don't have good Staff technique or good basics, then in the future when you learn the techniques and the forms of the Staff, you're not going to be as good. Okay, so rotating the Staff. Okay, it's very important that one learns how to properly handle the Staff. So first I'm going to show you inward rotating. Okay, standing in a Fighting Stance, you want to hold the Staff by one third, okay, with your left hand-your right hand, okay , pretty closely together; not too far away; very close to each other. So you want to put the stick like that, rotate under your arm, turn. This is the inward rotate. Okay, so you start as beginning and then twist around your shoulder, around your shoulder, okay. So you start off slowly as rotating the Staff inward. Now outward is completely the opposite. Inward is going this way, outward is going the other direction. Go, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Okay, make sure your hand is grabbing to the Staff tightly. Okay. So ladies and gentlemen, this is called the Swinging of the Staff as one of the basic technique that we learn in Staff.
