So I'm going to give you a couple of tips to help you be more prepared when you have your camera. The first one is buy the extra batteries, there's nothing worst then pulling your camera out and finding out that you have no power to take the picture of, you know, your child's birthday or your friend doing that funny trick or whatever it is. So always buy at least one extra battery and just keep that charged and have it with you in case you're in a situation where your battery goes dead. Another thing is with memory cards, now there are memory cards out there now that you could buy that are like eight megabyte memory cards. That's an insane amount of memory for a little camera like this and even if you were to shoot eight megabytes worth of images you'd probably wouldn't want them all on one card because cards are prone to corruption and different kinds of damage can happen to them. So I would advise you to maybe buy a couple 2 megabyte cards instead of one eight megabyte card. That way if something goes wrong with one of your cards you only lost the images on that one little card instead of the thousands that you have on that much larger card and you know you could even do several of the one megabyte cards those kinds of things. So keep that in mind. Another great thing to do, now I already told you definitely, definitely buy the little slim fitting case for your camera and just get in the habit of slipping it back in there every time. Then I would suggest you get a little bit of a larger case, it doesn't have to be a huge camera bag, but this one happens to be for my video camera and it's slightly padded which is great. It will hold this camera, my smaller video camera and a bunch of supplies so I have my manual in there to reference, I've got cords so if I'm at my friends house and I want to do a little impromptu slide show I could just go ahead and connect the camera, I've got extra memory cards, extra batteries, and pretty much anything I want. I could even fit a little snack in here if I really wanted. So I would advise you to go ahead and get a bag like this and even if you don't bring this with you places, it could be where you store those types of things at home so you could easily put your hands on them.
Good info. However, when you were talking about memory cards, you said "8 Megabytes.. and 2 Megabytes", I think you meant to say 8 Gigabytes and 2 Gigabytes instead.
