How to Protect Digital Cameras

So I hear a lot of people talking about oh, the digital camera didn't work for very long or it got all scratched up or now the lens doesn't retract and that kind of thing. So I think it's because we tend to be pretty casual with our items, I mean, we throw our cell phones around, and cell phones have gotten pretty durable so you can drop them a few times and they work great but a camera has some pretty sensitive equipment inside of this. You really need to take care of it. Now I can't tell you how many of my friends have bought a similar camera like this with this huge LCD display on the back and they didn't buy the $10 dollar case that came with it. It's completely invaluable and it's made to fit this camera perfectly in there so even with the camera inside the case it's still pretty easy to fit into your purse or your bag, whatever. I know a lot of guys out there and probably some women too like to put the cameras in their pockets. Now while it's fantastic and it could easily fit into your pocket, it's one of those things where the button can be turned on accidentally and now you've opened the lens and you've broken the lens mechanism. So it's just a bad idea overall to put it in your pocket besides the fact that you could sit on it and do some damage or that kind of thing. These large LCD'S that they have now are fantastic, but even with the scratch resistant coating on there; they can get scratched up pretty easily. Especially if you've got a child around like I do or you're at the beach and sand and things can get in there so while it looks beautiful now you want to keep it looking that good and it will just help you take better pictures. The wrist strap is also a key feature that a lot of people don't even bother to attach to their camera. Now I can not tell you how many times I was glad I had this wrist strap on. It's so easy, you just slip it on your wrist and if somebody bumps into you, you didn't drop your camera, it's fantastic. Say you're leaning over a bridge now you didn't drop your camera into the rushing waters below. So it's such an easy thing to do, is just put that wrist strap on when you're taking those kind of pictures. It's also really important that you turn your camera off before you take out the battery or the memory card. Where those contacts are in the battery it's very sensitive and it can actually damage or short out your camera. In mine it has the battery is also right in there next to the memory card and again the memory card is connected electronically and sometimes taking the memory card out while your camera is on can cause damage to the memory card and make it so that you really can't use it anymore or some of your images will just disappear, so in order to protect that always, always turn your camera off before you open up any of the compartments here.
