How to Thread a Sewing Machine
Hi! I’m Candi Cane-Canncel on behalf of expertvillage.com. Today we’re going to learn machine basics how to thread your machine and the different components of it. So this machine has a basic front mounted machine most machines are going to either be front mounted or if you have say an old vintage machine some of those are side mounted and what there really means is where your thread actually goes. And most machines are going to be pretty similar as far as having a balance wheel, a spindle or spool guide you’re going to have some sort of component to bring the thread to that matches the tension, a pick up, another pick up guide up here a needle holder pick up and then your needle. So to thread this particular machine you just start at the top, put your thread through the tension guide, come down around, go through the pick up guide and then your going to be coming back down going through the little thread guide and then just basically sticking your thread into the needle. Picking up your presser foot, sticking the thread underneath. For your bobbing most bobbins are going to be slightly different they vary in different sizes and again you can just consult your manual for things just to know what size. You stick in your bobbin, pull it through the little bobbin holder, pull the lever, stick it into the bobbin guide, close your door your going to attach your foot and there you go a threaded machine.
