Prepping Switches for Wireless Home Lighting

Michael Raines with Expert Village. Okay, we've turned the power off. Let's take off our switch. Now, as I said, this one isn't connected to the terminals. It's connected through a push tube in the back, so you twist gently and pull then the wire comes out. It's the same thing with the other one. Twist and Twist and twist, but don't pull hard or you're going to break the wire. Just keep pulling and pulling and pulling and it comes off. Now, even though the power is not on, pretend that it is. It's a safety thing, just in case you didn't get the breaker that has the power. So, there's our wires and our switch is off. It's time to put on our X10 control module. Now, here's a little X10. It comes with two little wires in the back. You notice they are black they're blue. You know what? It doesn't matter. The X10 works either way, whether it's a hot or a neutral or whatever. A switch is a switch. They work either way. So, what we're going to do is take our two leads here and connect them to those two leads there. How do you do that? With wire nuts! Let me show you.
