Common Misuses of Capital Letters

Hi I'm Kari Wethington for Expert Village.com. Today we're doing writers guide, self editing basics. Lets talk about capital letters. This is something that's pretty basic, you probably learned it in elementary school, but it's good to review and make sure that you are not either over using capital letters or forgetting to use them in really important instances. Especially if you're talking to someone and not capitalizing things that should be, it kind of comes across as disrespectful. But on the other hand don't over use capital letters. For instance college students will sometimes capitalize and area of study that doesn't need to be capitalized. For instance science, it's such a broad topic and such a broad word, it doesn't need to be capitalized. Where as English does because it's the name of a language.
