How to Clean Cowboy Hats

Hi, I'm Dustin here on behalf of Expert Village here at AA Callister's and today I'm going to show you just a few basic care cleaning tips we have for your hat. This one here has obviously been abused a little bit; it's a little bit dirty. So, what I recommend when you?re cleaning them, get one of these hat cleaning sponges. You can find these at most places that have hats. There are going to be two in a package, one for lights and one for darks, make sure you use it only on darks. This one, here, you want to start on the inside and out and just pull. Now, depending on how dirty and how deep the dirt goes is depending on how tough you want to push down. Usually you just want to start with just a nice dusting motion from inside to out, counter clockwise. Counter clockwise will go with the nap of the felt and it will pull that dirt, and hair, and grime out of there. Once you completely go through that, pop out that crown a little bit and we want to do the same thing for the crown. Crown you go front to back, front to back, keeping with that nap there, and just do a nice steam over it after that. That's basic cleaning tips for you.
