Cleaning Up After Camping

Hi, I'm Albert Hedgepeth with Expert Village and today we're going to talk about leave no trace camping. One of the most important things to do is to leave the environment that you found in a fashion that is better than you originally saw it. If you show up to a camping site and there's garbage and other materials lying around, you should go ahead and pick them up and take them out with you. Leaving the environment in a better place than you found it is one of the best things you can do while you're enjoying the wilderness. It's a sign that you care, it shows other people a great example, and it also provides an environment where there is longevity for the outdoors. If we all throw trash outside, eventually there's going to be no places for any of us to go and enjoy that are pristine. It will always be man made garbage and other materials lying around that were originally not there and that harm the wildlife for the area. So, making sure that you go through, that you put your fires out, that you pick up trash, that you hike out what you take in and that you respect the environment is very important while camping.
