Advice for Orchid Care & Maintenance & Holes in the PotNow I prepared this pot by adding extra holes. I’ve put one hole on each side of the pot and the reason for that is the extra hole added for better air circulation and also it helps with the drainage. Now on some pots I would not add extra holes because a different type of orchid might want the wetter atmosphere. You can drill as many holes as you feel are good for your plant. I think to remember is that the roots are the longest of the plant so they need air that they need to breathe or the plant will die.
