How to Fasten a Tie on a Costume

Hi Shelly Cordsen here with Expert Village and we're making our head piece for our little Sheppard's. We have our circle and all you do is just take one corner of it, kind of fold it good, a good portion of it, fold it back and then I always kind of split it in half and I will tuck that under again. We're just kind of giving us a base to sew a tie on. So I'm just going to pin that down right here and it's ideal if you have the kids to fit and put this on. But sometimes when you're making thirty of these you just make a bunch and hope there kind of generic and fit them all. Now for the tie I'm just going to cut a piece strip of muslin. Oh just guess just oh I just make a little tear about like that and we just tear it and again we're getting a little rustic look here. And then we're just going to fold that down, when I say these are quick to sew we mean they are quick to sew and we're just going to kind of eyeball that put it right there were these pins are and we're going to take this to the sewing machine. We're just going to sew that down here and right here with just a straight stitch. These are a lot of fun because you can mix your fabrics , do stripes, do plaids, do solids and your mixing them with the different color bath towels and so all your Sheppard's will look a little bit different. There's nothing like having homemade costumes. And we are done and in just a few minutes we'll bring our model out for you.
