How to Finish a Kids Sewing Project with Ribbon

I'm Shelly Cordsen back with you from Expert Village and we're finishing up our organizer for our wall. I, there's so many ways you can hang this with ribbon, with rope, braid. I'm choosing this; just simple ribbon that you tie packages with. It's got some wiring in it so you can give it some shape. And I also have this little belt buckle accessory you can buy in the craft department and I just want a little bit of bling on mine .So, I'm going to put this little belt buckle thing on mine. And I want it to come and set right here like this. So now I bring it through my grommets, we have two grommets in if you'll remember, two inches from each side. I'll pull my ribbon through here, pull the other side through. We're going to have to fight with the wire a little bit, there we go. There's all kinds of thicknesses out there and see I just wanted a little bling on mine. And then I can come up the top here and tie it wherever I want it to hang. And I'm just going to do a double knot here. Very elegant, glitzy and I'm going to trim off my edges here to a nice pretty point. And now it's ready to hang. I'm going to hang mine in my sewing room, I'm going to be able to keep my scissors, ah maybe we'll turn them up which is not probably very safe. I could keep my hammer in there. You could put it by your computer desk, keep your pens, your markers, scotch tape in. And another option here is, as my granddaughters did, is they just tied ribbon through and we come from the back side and then just tied knots on each end. Alyssa came from the front back side and tied a bow here where I have my belt buckle. And this is Skyley's, and she just did a ribbon. Now this was a fun project I spent one morning with my five year old, made this one. Ten year old made this one and my nine year old made this one. And then the mother's wanted to go home and make their own, so fun project to do with your children.
