How to Trace on Cardboard

Hi I?m Shelly Cordsen with Expert Village. We are going to continue working on our Levi organizer and I found an old pair of jeans. You can get them at thrift stores or I?m sure we all have a box of them somewhere because our intentions are always to make quilts out of our old jeans. First thing you?re going to do is take one leg per organizer ,we are going to measure 24inches about 21 inches to 24 inches from the bottom up depending on how many pockets that you want to put. Go about 25in if you want three pockets or you can go less if you want two. And you?re going to just make a little mark, I?m making this one about 21in with a pen. Nothing precise about it you just take your scissors and cut. Now an ideal thing to do is for you to cut a bunch of legs off, throw them in the washer, because you want them to be really ravely at the top and kind of look a little frayed just like we used to do our old cut offs when their washed a lot you get this real fun fray at the top. But it's not critical if you don't want to take the time to wash them. Ok then you?re going to take piece of scrap cardboard, you?re going to lay that leg on there. Get it as close as you can, take your pen again and you?re going to trace that leg. Again no big science about it but what you do want to mark is that you want the cardboard to cut here and you want to come down about an inch or two from here so that we can leave room to glue at both ends. So I mark that.
