The A Major Scale on Bass Fiddle

On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Steve Anthony here in New York City, today we're going to talk a little bit about Country Bass Fiddle techniques for beginners. OKay, now let's break down the practice scale, the Blues scale in A. (Audio demo) So that would be A, C sharp, E, F sharp, G, F sharp, E, C sharp, A. If you look from the side you can see the position markers. It's the same fingering position as the E scale but only on the A string instead of the E string. (Audio demo) Next, we'll look at; maybe the G and the C practice scales.
