How to Set a Constant Zoom on a Canon XH A1

I showed you where the zoom buttons are on the XH A1. But there's another thing you can do with your little rocker zoom button, here, which is setting a constant zoom, which is real nice because the variable zoom, sometimes you're trying to get a real slow zoom and you accidentally push it really hard and then it kind of looks bad. But you can set a constant zoom so no matter how hard you push this zoom button here, it's always going to be a constant speed and you can set that speed. To do that, we'll just go to this little switch right here and it says 'Zoom Speed'. Right now it's switched to 'Var' which stands for variable. But it we switch it over to 'C', now it's set to constant. Basically, this little dial up here is where we're going to set that number. You can see that on the LCD screen, up here on the top left. As I move that dial I just showed you, you'll see this number is going up. Basically, the higher the number the faster the zoom and you can go all the way down to one which is a really, really, really slow zoom. If you want just a real dramatic, super slow zoom out, you could set that. If you want a slow zoom, I usually put it around one to four and then you can set it up really fast just like I said. That's about setting a constant zoom. One thing, the zoom ring is always variable so you can't really set a constant on it. Also, there's one other zoom option and this is zoom on the handle. There's a little lock switch right here. You have to unlock it to unlock these buttons otherwise they don't work. And, this zoom is always constant. So, it's set to whatever your constant zoom is set to down here. That's a little bit about setting up a constant zoom.
