How to Make Balloon Bear

Hi, I'm Dan McCleod with Expert Village. Now we're going to learn some basic balloon animals starting with a teddy bear based on the information that you previously just learned. I'm going to start by inflating a balloon. Holding it about right at the top there and forty percent of the way down, inflating it up. Letting a little bit of air out so I have room to work with tying it off. Now just like before I'm going to create 6 bubbles about a half inch, keeping the pressure on the top of the balloon at all times so it doesn't come unraveled. There we go, a string of six half inch bubbles all about approximately a half inch each and I'm going to connect them by bringing the segment between bubble one and two and six and the rest of the balloon together and twist them together. Now if I push bubble one into that circle that will also help to lock it in place. That's ok, that came undone there, you can just re-twist the bubble if that happens to you. I'm now going to create two ear ties for the, the face of the bear here by grabbing the third bubble here and separating between the second and fourth bubble and twisting it about three times to create the appearance of an ear. And I'll do this again on this side. And this will create the appearance of a second ear. I'll then create another half inch bubble. And unlike I demonstrated before, with the push tie, I'm actually going to do four more half inch bubbles and there's a reason why, you'll learn why I'm doing this when we get on to complex balloons. So I have five together this time. I'm pulling the space between one and two and five and the rest of the balloon and twisting those together. I'm going to repeat the process by taking about an inch or so for the body, 4 more half inch bubbles for the feet of the balloon. Take one and two and the space between five and the rest of the balloon, put those together and twist it. And I have a different variation of a basic teddy bear.
