Ear Tie for Balloon Animals

Hi, I'm Dan McCleod and I'm with Expert Village. Now we're going to talk about how to make an ear tie while doing balloon sculpting with two sixty balloons. The ear tie is the basic simple tie that is very crucial for almost any balloon that you do. Once you learn the ear tie, you're on your way to all sorts of creations. Now previously I did a 6 bubbles and I locked them together. So we have the front bubble, the first bubble here, two, three, four, five and six. Now what I'm going to be ear tying here is actually going to be bubble number three and bubble number five to give the appearance of ears. Now how an ear tie works is you basically have any center bubble separated by two other bubbles. What you do is you pull the bubble away from those two bubbles and then twist in at least 180 degrees but in order to ensure that it's not going to come undone if you do it another couple times, maybe do a full 360 or even go 540 degrees that will really lock it in place. So that would be one ear tie, that would have been bubble number three. And now we'll do bubble number five. Once again, we're just pulling and twisting around. And the result is bubble three and bubble five now look like ears on a face. And the bubble number one actually looks like a nose.
