Hi! I'm Dan and I'm with Expert Village. Now we're going to be talk about how to inflate a balloon for making balloon animals. We'll start by making a 260 balloon, which the Qualatex balloons that I have in this bag. I'll actually read a little thing off the bag. It says do not inflate by mouth. Use an air inflator or helium inflation regulator. I'm going to show you first how to do it first by using an air inflator. Then second, I'm going to show you how to inflate it by the mouth, even though it says not to do it on the bag. There's 2 reasons, really 3, that I use. I blow them up by mouth when I work. One, is I think it's part of the show. I think people are impressed by somebody's ability to blow up a balloon by their mouth. Second, it goes a lot quicker. I'm able to make a lot more balloon animals, therefore I make more kids happy in the time spent that I am working. Three, what if this pump was to break in the process of making a balloon animal. I would have to stop. Because I'm able to blow them up by my mouth, I don't have to worry about the tool possibly breaking on me. Not to say that this is likely to happen, but anything can possibly break. From time to time, these do. Let's get started. First, we have a 260 balloon. The lip of the balloon is the area where the opening is to the balloon, and we have the air inflator here. All you have to do is simply put it over the tip of the air inflator, hold firmly so it doesn't come off when you put the air into it, and just pump back and forth and the air goes into the balloon. Once again, you do want to hold firmly, or else the air is going to escape out of your fingers here and you want to keep a firm grip on it as you pull the balloon off the inflator so it doesn't go flying off. Notice, I didn't blow this balloon all the way up. I left quite a bit of area uninflated. The reason the balloon doesn't pop when I do the twist is I'm actually pushing the air into the empty part of the balloon. You don't want to put too much air into a balloon.
