In this clip we're going to talk about the different kinds of brushes that we used in pottery. I think that it's imperative to have lots of different brushes and different size brushes that make different kinds of marks. So it's important to have that variety with brushes so that you don't have that one particular kind of mark. Over here I've brought a couple of brushes out. We have a bamboo brush that's very wide. It also holds a lot of glaze or slip, which is liquid clay, on it. We have a smaller, stiffer brush, which I can use for dabbing. A fan brush, which can make a different kind of a mark or imprint, and just smaller, different kinds of shaped brushes for lots of different marks. You can use the smaller brushes to make a finer line over the top of a bigger brush and that can help you to make lots of different marks, different size marks on your pottery.
