Making Hour Glass Shapes in Pottery

I'm going to add a little bit of an hour glass shape to my cylinder and try to form or define the outside of my piece. I'm going to take my metal rim and using a little bit of pressure on the outside and the inside, I'm going to take and push out a little here, and pushing out with my inside fingers, holding steady with my outside. I'm going to come along and kind of collar in here a little bit and push out the top, making this more of a vase than a cylinder. You can really kind of define what you're rim is. Maybe taking your wooden tool with the point, define the rim. Same thing down here at the bottom, define my base a little bit and giving our cylinder a little bit of character. Again, my fingers are lined up equally on the inside and outside. So there we have a little bit of a base as opposed to our cylinder.
