Tools Needed for Pottery

This is a basic tool kit we're going to use for throwing on the wheel. You can find this tool kit at any area art supply store. It is the basic tools that you'll need to work on the wheel. We have a sponge here which is used for wetting and smoothing the clay. A wooden riv which is used to form the clay, you can cut and incise with the wooden riv. We have some trimming tools which are to use some metal loop tools, which are used to again incise the clay or cut the clay. A pin tool which is used to poke or cut with. A wooden riv with a point which is used to form, again, to make marks. A metal riv which is used to smooth or scrape. And a wire tool which is used to cut the clay and/or to form the clay in some fashions. We can use lots of different tools, but this is a basic toolkit which is essential for working on the wheel.
