Marking & Cutting for Base Molding Installation

Hi! I am Tim Eaton on behalf of Expert Village and we are doing our shoe molding demonstration. Now that we have our measurement, we are going to go ahead and get our piece set up and get ready to cut. So you just take your tape obviously, just grab on to one end and then just pull the tape. You can lock it if you need to with that yellow button right there on the tape just so that you can let it go in case where we can’t. But so once you have got your tape on, our measurement was 56 and 1/8. Go ahead and mark that, right there, a simple pencil mark and then don’t forget safety glasses since we’re about to use the saw and again make sure for this cut that your saw is set completely straight to the 0 degree mark. There are little degree marks down here on the saw and we are at 0 right now and for the other cuts depending on inside, outside, corner, stuff like that, you want it on 0 degrees or at different degrees. So we will go ahead and make our first cut at 0 degrees, just make sure you have your goggles on and always when you are cutting, it is more important to go slow and steady and quickly. The saw will get through it, just make sure you go slow, and make sure your cut looks good.
