Using the DV Tool Kit in Pro Tools

Let's talk about the DV Tool kit and what does that do. Pro Tools has two versions. It's the HD version which is fully implemented and has time code ability, time code window and allows you to synchronize with simply time codes and so fourth. The LE version when first gets it does not give you the ability to actually view the time code. In order to do that you need to get the DV tool kit. That's one of the options. The other is that the DV tool kit enables to import into the LE version. This is what I'm talking about. The DV tool kit is with in the LE version. The DV took enables you to import OMF files, which we did earlier, that's one of the main tools we use in our system in order to be getting from final cut to pro tools we have to import OMF media. So, with out that you pretty much dead in the water. Those are the two points. Now, lets take a look a my window here and if I go over and view time code I can see now that the time code window shows up clearly and that enables me to work. I can go back and fourth from a HD system and a LE system and save quite bit of money and still do a lot of work. I can get a lot of sound editing done in LE with that option. Is a great way to add value to your LE system.
