How to Install a 90-Pound Wall Anchor

Hey, it’s Dominic here with Expert Village and by the cameraman’s request he wanted to know just how much this shelf will actually hold. Well I have six anchors in here in total three on each bracket each one holds about 30 lbs. so if you take you know 6 times 30 you’re looking at about 180 lbs. Well will it hold 180 lbs., probably not. I wouldn’t chance it. Would it to hold 100 lbs. it will hold 100 lbs. but I wouldn’t go 180 just because each one holds 30 lbs. doesn’t mean you can put like five in there and you can fill 150 lb. weight up there. It may or may not hold. I haven’t done it but he wanted to… and if you guys wanted to know about the 90 lb. weights I think it’s kind of neat that you guys should how these things work in case if you ever use them. I’m going to go ahead and install this into the dry wall. I’m not going to install anything to it but I’m just going to just show you just how the mechanism works. So we’re going to put you guys on the other side of the wall and you’re going to see just how this things really works so that you can kind of get an understanding of why it’s able to hold you know as much as it does. So the first we’re going to do is… let’s just say anywhere in the wall, this are self drilling so I just installed this and put this into the wall and I screw it in just like this, this will be my hole and I will slide in there. Now there’s two little flaps that we’ll need to push into the dry wall okay. So that’s those guys, now that’s in there okay. So now what I’m going to do is I’m going to put… let’s say I’m just going to use the screw but let’s say I’m just going to use the brackets just like this you pretend like something is here and I start screwing I want you guys to see just how it works on the other side. So the next section is that we’re going to show you what it looks like.
