How to Play the Pass the Prop Improv Game

JAYNE ENTWISTLE: I'm Jayne Entwistle with expertvillage.com. ANDREW STUBBLEFIELD: And I am Andrew Stubblefield. JAYNE ENTWISTLE: We're playing some of our favorite improv games today. This game is called pass the prop. Now this is a great game you can play at home because you don't need an actual prop, nothing specific like a movie prop. What you can use is anything around your house, anything at all. And the idea of the game is that you find a prop--oh, look what I found. Okay, and then you have to use it as anything but what it actually is. I think we can all pretty much determine this is from my vacuum cleaner. And we are going to use it as anything but a vacuum hose. And we're just going to pass it back and forth. You could play this with your kids. You can play this anywhere. You probably even have something in your car that you could play this with. So are we ready? Senator, please tell me your views on the recent childcare bill. ANDREW STUBBLEFIELD: April, May, June and July. I love jumping rope in May. JAYNE ENTWISTLE: The snake is loose, the snake is loose! Ah! ANDREW STUBBLEFIELD: Mom, give it a rest. Cut the cord. It's been like twenty years. JAYNE ENTWISTLE: But I just love you so much. ANDREW STUBBLEFIELD: And that's the game of pass the prop. As you can see, we just come up with whatever it might be other than what it actually is.
