Types of T-Shirt Designs

GRACE FRAGA: And we're back here with Chantelle Tibbs from Wear Me Naked and she is going to ask you "What's your inspiration?" She's going to help you search for inspiration. CHANTELLE TIBBS: A lot of times, people will come up to me and they are like, "How do you do? You look so artistic." So there's--and that's really--I mean, honestly, anybody can sit down and they can figure something out. There are different ways that you're going to design. I'm going to use just some paper and a pencil right here 'cause this is how I would do it. I also do a lot of hand drawing for my designs; a lot of my designs are based off of hand drawings. So, again, that's just my company's field. What kind of field do you want? Do you want a graphic designer? Do you want to do something on the computer 'cause that's a different ball game altogether but that's totally an option. So, how do you want to go about making your design? Do you want it very crystal clear? Do you want it to be computer generated? Do you want it to be something that's mixed with maybe both, hand drawing and computer? Touching up with Adobe Photoshop is fantastic for stuff like that, and there are a few other editing programs out there. So you want to figure out where-what general direction your design is coming from. GRACE FRAGA: Okay. CHANTELLE TIBBS: So I picked at a hand painted kind of feel. Now, but really, really, really sit down with a pencil and just start sketching out things that you would like to wear on a t-shirt. It's really easy; you don't have to be an artist. Go around and think about it. Just really assess, what do I want to wear? You're a consumer, so your opinion matters the most. You are the consumer. So what do you--what would you like to wear on a t-shirt? Because if you would want to wear it on a t-shirt, eventually there's a few other people that would want it, too, and even if they don't, this is a t-shirt for you. So this is how you want to design a t-shirt. So assess who you want to target, think about what you would wear on a t-shirt, and then--now it's time to start drawing up some samples.
