The American Full Stroke on Snare Drum

JOEL SIEGEL: Alright, so now we're going to talk about your full stroke and the American grip. This is a really good application you'll find for getting around kit, when you're doing fills and whatnot with your toms. The full stroke is going to be more advantageous as far as getting a loud sound out of the tom, a full sound and a confident sound, but at the same time, enable you to move around the kit. If you're using downstroke, you're going to get more of the attack, more of that harsh sound, but you're also--it's going to limit your mobility like I said. So, this is the full stroke using the American grip. It should look and sounds like this.
