ANTONIO NEAL: Hey, this is Antonio Neal with Artistic Soul Entertainment on behalf of Expert Village. Today, we're going to talk about copyrighting a song and also publishing the song. Why is it important to pretty much follow the instructions that you've heard today and get your stuff copyrighted? Pretty much I will say this. Most of you guys may have a job or you do something that you put in a lot of effort in work on behalf of somebody. And at the end of your month or you two weeks, you're going to expect a paycheck. And if you have this gift and this talent and you're putting a lot of work, a lot of times people buy studio equipment and they get yelled at by their wives and you spend a lot of times away from your family trying to create something for your family or you may just be living out a dream that's in your heart, why do all of that and not get insurance? Your copyright is just like insurance. Why be a person that works on top of company that creates skyscrapers and you're not going to have a life insurance? That makes no sense at all. If what you have is valuable to you, take out time. Review this website over and over, review these clips over and over again, and if something you don't understand, review until you do understand. Go to the copyright.gov, go to your library and look up things about the Library of Congress and how your songs can be protected, how your work's going to be protected. Because, who knew that Stephen King left a certain family, who knew that certain people that we see right now the people who created Google and the people who created MySpace would ever have an opportunity to. But they had to do the same thing that we're telling you to do. You're going to have to copyright your information so that someone can recognize that as your information. Because you never know, technology may create and opportunity for your idea, your song, your movie to be seen all over the world, and you're going to be sick if you didn't just take care of this little $45 problem. Peace.
