The double pile hitch is a variation off the regular pile hitch. A quick and simple way to do it. But this one offers a lot more strength and a lot more durability. It takes a little bit longer to make that extra loop in it, but you still will find that this knot is really quick and fast whenever you need to something. Just wrap it. So if you'll look down here, you can see that I have my hitch all ready set up here. And I've got my line, and here's my working end here. And I'm going to just take my working end, and I'm going to loop it over. Just pull a bite into it like so. And I'm going to take it and wrap it over. Oops. And wrap it over, and then pull this under here. Now this is where I would normally just take it and loop it here for a regular pile hitch. But instead I'm going to loop it one more time around my rope. Around my wood. And then I'm going to bring it up and over. There you go. And as you can see all the tension here is on the front bend that I've got going on. And back here is still rather loose. And no matter how much tension I put on it, there's still a little slack that can be adjusted here. So let?s do this one more time. We're going to take our rope, we're just going to create a bite in it, like so. We're going to wrap it once, and twice. And then back up over the top like so.
